For international law firm, we’re looking for the HR COORDINATOR. He/she will report to European Head of Talent and Managing Partner Italy.
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the Human Resources function in the Milan and Rome offices. The position will perform diverse assignments concerning lawyers and employee relations, staffing, compensation, benefits, organizational development, recruitment and training and special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage the hiring and onboarding process for all new joiners (lawyers and employees).
- Oversee and administer the leaver processes.
- Develop and implement an effective training programme and foster a culture of feedback.
- Conduct regular performance review processes for employees.
- Collaborate with the European Head of Talent and the Partners on the lawyer performance review process to enhance talent management.
- Manage the merit and bonus program for staff.
- Handle all employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and capability processes under the supervision the European Head of Talent and Employment law Partner in Italy.
- Assist managers in the interpretating and applying domestic and firmwide policies and procedures.
- Prepare documentation for changes to contracts’ terms and conditions and submit relevant notices to the Global team.
- Update employee and partner details in the HR database and individual files.
- Monitor absences, maintain accurate records for holidays and sickness and produce regular reports.
- Collate monthly payroll documentation and ensure timely submission.
- Update the Employee Handbook and HR template documentation as needed.
- Assist in the arrangements for staff appreciation and other events including organising gifts/vouchers, liaising with providers and scheduling meetings.
- Monitor and maintain HR-related budget items and expenditures.
Qualifications
- Degree required, along with a recognized HR qualification.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a law firm or service provider industry – HR department.
- Flexible with well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency in English.
- Ability to interact with employees, lawyers and partners at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills.
Salary: 35k – 45k
Location: Milan (hybrid work, 7 days of smart-working per month)
