Product Owner

A mid-sized organization supporting universities, research institutions and critical infrastructure in Switzerland. They provide innovative IT services, secure infrastructures, expert advice and fosters specialist communities to maximize the benefits of digitalization.

Tasks

• Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for cloud Compute & Storage services.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring high-value initiatives are delivered first.
• Translate user and business needs into clear, technically feasible requirements.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to deliver secure, scalable and reliable services on time.
• Monitor project scope, timelines and outcomes while providing performance metrics.
• Plan capacity, resource needs and manage budgets with transparency.
• Ensure compliance with legal, governance and data protection standards.
• Engage with external stakeholders, suppliers and open-source communities.
• Gather user feedback to inform product improvements and align with broader cloud strategy.

Profile

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in cloud-native or infrastructure domains.
• Strong technical knowledge of platforms like OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira).
• Able to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant decisions.
• Business-oriented mindset with solid financial planning and budgeting skills.
• Nice-to-have: German proficiency, FinOps or cloud pricing knowledge, and open-source community experience.
