The Opportunity
The Vice President, Cybersecurity reports to the SVP, Technology & Global Security and is accountable for all aspects of the cybersecurity program. The position is responsible for setting the vision, mission, strategy, design and sustainment of the program including the leadership, risk management, governance, compliance, policy, standards, incident response, quality control, continuous improvement and people management. The scope of the cybersecurity program includes information technology as well as operational technology.
The VP is accountable for setting the vision and strategy, ensuring effective governance and compliance, managing enterprise risk, and leading incident response and awareness initiatives. This role also plays a critical part in shaping a security-first culture across the organization and ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
First Year Priorities
- Rebuild and mature the cybersecurity program, with a focus on insourcing, modernization, and alignment with business strategy.
- Establish a robust governance framework that integrates cybersecurity into enterprise-wide decision-making and operational processes.
- Develop and operationalize a comprehensive risk management strategy, including the consolidation and oversight of the Technology Risk Register.
- Enhance compliance and audit readiness, ensuring alignment with internal controls, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Elevate cybersecurity awareness and training, embedding a culture of security across all levels of the organization.
- Lead and refine the incident response strategy, including regular tabletop exercises and resilience planning.
- Build and empower a high-performing cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Role Criteria:
- Demonstrated success in leading and transforming enterprise-wide cybersecurity programs.
- Deep expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, and governance across IT and OT environments.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience in regulated industries and international operations is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned cybersecurity leader with over 15 years of progressive experience and a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity, risk management, and security architecture. They bring a strategic mindset and a proven track record of leading complex transformations, including building insourced cybersecurity programs and navigating regulatory environments across large, multi-unit, and international organizations. Known for their collaborative and low-ego leadership style, they thrive in dynamic settings, balancing urgency with sound judgment. They are passionate about developing talent, fostering innovation, and building high-performing teams. With strong communication and influencing skills, they engage effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders. Their proactive approach to threat intelligence and commitment to continuous learning position them as a trusted advisor and catalyst for change.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including leadership roles in large, complex, and regulated environments.
- Demonstrated success in transforming cybersecurity programs and leading global teams.
- Strong background in cloud environments, enterprise IT, and operational technology.
- Experience with project and financial management, and a track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
Certifications:
- Required: CISSP
- Preferred: CISM, CISA, CRISC, CEH
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business/Commerce, or a related field; Master’s degree is considered an asset.
