Role Overview:

We are looking for an innovative Worldwide Leader of Artificial Intelligence Research to steer its evolution into a top global player in cutting-edge AI-powered solutions for energy transition and a net-zero economy. This position calls for profound AI expertise, strategic insight, and decisive leadership to develop world-class capabilities and unleash transformative value.

Key Duties:

AI Strategic Direction

• Offer innovative, far-sighted, and technically sound leadership to establish company as a global AI pioneer in energy and sustainability.
• Foster groundbreaking innovations to gain significant competitive edges, distinct product features, and long-term market leadership.
• Imagine and drive new business ventures, revenue models, and strategic paths made possible by advanced AI.

AI Framework & Technical Foundation

• Develop and put in place state-of-the-art AI and data systems, encompassing AI frameworks, platforms, technology sets, tools, and governance structures.

Integrating AI into Products & Operations

• Oversee company-wide efforts to incorporate advanced AI functionalities across company’s entire product range and supporting internal operations—from core systems and applications to client services and future offerings.

Research, Development & Innovation

• Spot, lead, and manage high-impact R&D, innovation, and incubation projects, including key AI technologies and proprietary models.
• Form strategic partnerships with academic institutions, research bodies, startups, tech companies, and clients to speed up innovation and co-create intellectual property.

Global AI Insight Forum

• Lead a Global AI Insight Forum consisting of AI specialists and thought leaders to:
• Provide guidance on emerging AI trends and disruptions.
• Shape company’s AI R&D plans.
• Offer strategic perspectives and identify opportunities for company.

Skill Enhancement

• Continuously strengthen company’s advanced technical capabilities in AI and related areas.
• Set up and lead company’s AI Excellence Centers.
• Nurture a high-performance culture that encourages experimentation, innovation, and technical mastery.

International AI Community

• Establish and expand a robust global network of AI leaders, researchers, and influencers from academia, industry, and major AI research centers.
• Utilize this network to promote open innovation, collaboration, idea sharing, talent recruitment, and enhance company’s reputation in the global AI-for-Energy ecosystem.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Demonstrated success in implementing AI in real-world products—preferably in climate technology, sustainability, or enterprise software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern AI methods, including large language models, graph-based AI, time series analysis, and optimization algorithms.
• Strong grasp of the ethical, regulatory, and societal implications of AI.
• Experience in building and expanding high-performing, diverse AI teams.
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
