Network Engineer

One of our market leading Trading Firms has an opening for a Network Engineer to join their Amsterdam team. This exciting On-Site role with partial hybrid options is based with a firm that has offices globally, and is therefore a rare opportunity to work with a unique firm to ensure the performance and efficiency of their networks across their various teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing, deploying and maintaining the firm's Low Latency, high performance Network infrastructure.
• Assisting with planned migrations and maintenances.
• Ensuring all aspects of the WAN network link together across their global data centre presence.
• Contributing to capacity planning and traffic flow optimization.
• Tackling technical debts and removing complexity
• Rebuilding and redesigning the LAN network and data centre network.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate and present:

• Strong network and performance monitoring skills and knowledge of network capacity planning
• Experience working across LAN and global WAN networks
• Cisco and Arista network equipment experience ideal, although we will consider other vendors
• Ideally experience with low-latency networking
• Experience troubleshooting network transport protocols – TCP/UDP
• Deep understanding and experience with routing protocols (such as OSPF, BGP) and network protocols (such as Multicast, Spanning Tree)
• Experience with security products and firewalls
• Networking monitoring and alerting systems experience
• A belief that good documentation helps successful project delivery
• A drive for improvement and motivation to push through friction
• Python proficiency for infrastructure automation
• Configuration management experience
• Time series databases & centralised logging solutions.
