Job Description

• Design and develop robust backend solutions using modern Java technologies as part of our platform backend team.
• Act as a technical leader within the team, ensuring high-quality code through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
• Drive team productivity, ensuring that all team members are effectively engaged and supported in their roles.
• Represent the development team in discussions with stakeholders and line management, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Facilitate communication and information flow within the team and across departments.
• Support and mentor team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
• Identify and escalate issues proactively to ensure smooth delivery and team alignment.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and the evaluation of new technologies and frameworks.
  
  

Profil

• Several years of professional experience in Java development, ideally in distributed systems and platform services.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs (OpenAPI), secure coding (incl. TLS/certificates & cryptography e.g. encryption, JWT), JUnit and ideally tools like Gradle/Maven, Quarkus , Consul, Traefik, Keycloak, Artemis.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, ...)
• Proven experience in agile software development and working in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and align a team.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative working style.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 5 %).

We offer you for this position a monthly minimum gross salary (starting level) of €3,843.00 on a full time basis (38.5 hrs/week). The actual salary is calculated on the basis of previous periods of service, qualification, professional experience and the collective agreement.
