Job Description: DevOps Engineer (Intermediate to Senior)
Contract – 1 Year | Hybrid (2–3 Days/Week On-Site in Etobicoke)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our team on a 1-year contract. This role is essential to optimizing development and operational workflows, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring 2–3 days per week on-site at our Etobicoke office near Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams (“Streams”) to coordinate DevOps support across multiple projects.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Monitor system alerts across multiple environments and perform incident response and root cause analysis.
- Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Ensure secure and efficient deployments through automated testing, code scanning, and vulnerability remediation.
- Integrate and maintain tools including Veracode, Cloudflare, Imperva, Rapid7, and Lacework.
- Perform external vulnerability scanning, log ingestion, and analysis.
- Support developers in remediating outdated components and application vulnerabilities.
- Participate in on-call rotation and proactively monitor to avoid outages.
- Assist with DNS configuration, certificate renewals, and Personal Access Token (PAT) management in Azure.
- Prepare demos and contribute to biweekly internal development meetings.
- Help transition infrastructure from IaaS to PaaS and drive cloud optimization efforts.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Participate in daily stand-ups with development teams to align on DevOps tasks.
- Manage and prioritize DevOps tickets through Freshservice.
- Monitor and act on alerts from Azure and other monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot cloud environments and maintain parity between dev and production.
- Remediate vulnerabilities and ensure secure integration within CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role
- Proficient in Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and Azure cloud services
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Familiarity with security scanning tools: Veracode, Rapid7
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and log analysis
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
Nice to Have
- Experience with compliance-focused projects (e.g., PCI)
- Familiarity with cloud-native security tools like Lacework
- Exposure to IaaS to PaaS transitions
Contract Details
- Duration: 1 Year (with potential for extension)
- Location: Etobicoke, ON (near Toronto Pearson Airport)
- Work Model: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days per week in the office
