About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and security-focused Backend Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems. You will work on performance-critical applications, ensuring security, high availability, and seamless integration with modern cloud and container-based environments. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, leading backend strategy, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend System Design & Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable and secure backend services using Java, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Security & Compliance: Apply secure coding practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Microservices Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications for high availability and scalability.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Build and optimize applications on AWS / GCP / Azure, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Database Management: Design relational and non-relational database schemas, optimize query performance, and ensure data integrity.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• API Development: Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
• Performance Tuning: Profile and optimize backend systems for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Mentoring & Leadership: Guide junior developers, share best practices, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Expertise:
• Secure coding in Java, JavaScript, and SQL
• Strong experience with Spring Boot or similar backend frameworks
• Microservices-based architecture design and implementation
• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Database optimization (Relational and NoSQL)
• CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor team members

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years in backend engineering or similar roles
• Proven track record of delivering mission-critical backend solutions
• Hands-on experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management systems
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
