Extranet Network Engineer (1-Year Contract)

Core Responsibilities

1. Design, deploy & maintain B2B Extranet networks for secure partner/vendor access.
2. Implement/manage VPN solutions (IPsec, SSL VPN, site-to-site, remote access).
3. Configure firewalls & VPN gateways (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
4. Monitor/troubleshoot Extranet/VPN connectivity to meet uptime SLAs.
5. Enforce Extranet security policies (authentication/access controls) & conduct vulnerability audits.
6. Provide 24/7 Tier-3 on-call support for critical incidents.
7. Document network architecture/configurations.

Mandatory Technical Skills

1. 3+ years hands-on Extranet/VPN network engineering.
2. Expertise in:

• VPN Protocols: IPsec, SSL VPN
• Firewalls/VPN Gateways: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point
• Routing: BGP, OSPF
• Networking: TCP/IP, VRF, Dot1Q

1. Proficiency with network monitoring/diagnostic tools.
2. Experience in vulnerability assessments & security policy implementation.
3. Willingness to:

• Work off-hours change windows (typically post-12am; compensatory time off provided)
• Provide occasional on-site data center support
• Commit to 24/7 on-call Tier-3 support rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
• Multi-vendor VPN/Extranet architecture experience
• Cloud VPN (AWS/Azure) & VXLAN knowledge
• Scripting/automation (Python, Ansible)

Contract Terms

• 1-year project-based contract (renewal subject to project needs)
• Off-hours work required for changes (with time-off compensation)
