Cybersecurity Analyst - Early Careers
Location: Ballarat, Federation University’s Ballarat Technology Park
Start Date: September 2025
Note: Onsite at least 4 days per week (for learning purposes)

About The Role
As a Graduate Cybersecurity Analyst, you’ll be part of a world-class team protecting organizations from threats. You’ll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to real-time security monitoring and incident response across a wide range of technologies.
What You’ll Do
Monitor and analyze log data and network traffic to detect potential threats.
Escalate validated security incidents and assist in drafting incident reports.
Learn to research emerging threats and contribute to detection strategies.
Participate in reviewing incident handling procedures and improving processes.
Collaborate with senior analysts and contribute to customer communications.
Support the development of automated response playbooks and workflows.
What We’re Looking For
A strong interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to learn.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Basic understanding of computer networking and security principles.
Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python) and data analysis tools is a plus.
Exposure to SIEM or EDR tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Crowdstrike) is beneficial but not required.
Relevant coursework or certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SANS) are a bonus.
