Location: Toronto, ON (3x onsite a week)

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Java Developer with hands-on experience in building and maintaining Java Microservices.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java Spring Boot, Kafka, and SQL/PLSQL, and will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems that support our business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Integrate and manage messaging systems using Apache Kafka.
  • Write efficient and optimized SQL and PL/SQL queries for data access and manipulation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Java Microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Java Spring Boot framework.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for database operations.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration patterns.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
