Location: Lisbon, Portugal (2/3 times per week in Client)

Language Requirements: Fluent English / Portuguese and Spanish (nice to have)

We are looking Data Scientist with a solid foundation in machine learning, Generative AI (GenAI) integration, and data engineering. Proficient in designing analytical models, developing robust ML pipelines, and deploying intelligent applications into production. Experienced in collaborating with global teams, solving complex challenges, and delivering high-quality, innovative, and scalable solutions.

Deliverables

  • Medium-complexity analytical models (regression, classification, clustering, ML on structured data at rest)
  • Code implementation in Python or R
  • Models and applications integrating GenAI (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models) into real-world workflows such as text generation, summarization, contextual classification, image creation, autonomous agents, and intelligent copilots
  • End-to-end pipelines including preprocessing, fine-tuning of base models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, T5), evaluation with specific metrics (BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity), and controlled deployment (e.g., via API) following best practices in ML engineering with a GenAI focus

Must-have / must be clearly listed on your CV

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively in global, cross-functional teams
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience in developing ML projects (Python, R, or SAS), deploying models to production, and managing the full ML lifecycle

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of the Energy & Utilities sector and GDPR regulations
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Additional language skills: Portuguese, Spanish
  • Experience implementing interactive data visualizations for complex insights
  • Strongly valued: expertise in developing AI-driven analytical solutions
