Job Description

Title: AGILE CONSULTANT

Location: City of London (hybrid)

Start: 1/1/25

Engagement: Permanent employed

Salary: £65k-£85k per year

Background

Lithe Transformation (thinklithe.com) is a boutique agile and digital business transformation consultancy. We are based in the UK, but with a reach across Europe and the Middle East/GCC region. We are a company that is scaling, growing our permanent headcount from 11 to 22 over the past 12 months. We offer agile and digital transformation support to companies ranging from start-ups through to multi-national, multi-billion dollar operations. Although we are market-agnostic, our largest footprints are in the banking/finance and government sectors. Our model is both working directly with companies on their transformations, and also partnering with larger consultancies providing agile expertise for their client engagements.

We also operate a separate recruitment practice, Lithe People, which offers state-of-the-art talent solutions in a number of different markets.

We now have an opportunity to hire an Agile Consultant to support our client engagements. The immediate engagement is to work on a transformation project with one of our main clients, a major UK financial institution and household name.

Duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to support our client through its agile transformation.

  • Working with both Lithe’s team of Agile Consultants and our client’s internal transformation team
  • Quickly be respected as a SME by our client’s IT teams, agile team, and middle/senior management
  • Mentoring client’s Scrum Masters and Product Owners
  • Agile coaching at both team and enterprise level
  • Stakeholder management
  • Supporting IT teams in their journey through to agile maturity
  • Spotting and exploiting opportunities to increase Lithe’s footprint within our client(s)
  • Working with Lithe’s team to provide regular feedback to client decision-makers and stakeholders, reporting progress and the benefit of our inputs to date
  • Taking responsibility for outcomes

The above list notwithstanding, the successful candidate may also be required to carry out other tasks associated with a consultant role as required by the company

Required Experience, Qualifications, And Attitudes

  • Previous experience of working as a consultant within agile transformation for a reputable management consultancy (2 years+)
  • Minimum 7 years experience working on agile business transformations
  • Agile coaching experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Working with transformation and other client stakeholders
  • Successfully working to strict and tight deadlines to achieve agile maturity
  • Ability to follow instructions from Transformation Lead, while at the same time making constructive suggestions and observations without leading to conflict
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Naturally inquisitive and proactive. Ownership of problems and solutions and the desire to go the extra mile to find those solutions is a key personal attribute
  • Experience of taking teams from zero to agile maturity
  • Experience of working with both onsite teams and remote offshore teams
  • The role is hybrid, based out of our client site in the City of London. The usual requirement is 2 days/week onsite, however our Agile Consultants need to be flexible and provide any additional onsite support as required by our client(s). Since Lithe is not looking to cover travel expenses on this engagement (or others within the London postcodes), it is expected that the successful applicant will live within a reasonable commute of central London

Interview process

The initial interview will be with our Head of People (or a recruiter in his team). There will then be a meeting with both directors individually, and also the Lead Consultant on the engagement. Our client may also wish to speak to the preferred applicant before a decision is made.

**UPDATE: We can also consider a contractor for this role. The maximum rate we could offer for this would be £600 for an INSIDE IR35 contract**
