Android Developer

Mediktor is looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our Agile team in charge of the continuous improvements of our product as well as the development and support of our different customer integrations.

Mediktor has developed an artificial intelligence based medical assistant capable of simulating a conversation with a real doctor. This can lead to enormous cost savings, process optimization and waiting time reduction in many healthcare use cases, for example in triage for emergency departments or medical call centers.

Our technology uses natural language recognition, multiple types of prediction models, and can be integrated into almost any type of solution thanks to our UI libraries and our wide range of API methods and capabilities.

The software has been clinically validated with a success rate of up to 91.3% in trials with real patients.

The Role:

As an Android Developer you will be integrated in a team that is moving towards Agility. As a startup company, we are fast-learners but still adapting some of the processes so you can help us in the shaping of our Scrum framework; improving our working flows & CICD. You will be part of our rituals: daily meetings, Sprint planning, Spikes, Retros, refinements, regular brainstorming sessions and after-work beers once per month! What you will be doing:

During your first day you will be introduced to our development team and you will be sitting a lot with our Android developer to deep-dive into our Android code (mainly written in Java). You will also receive a Mediktor welcome pack to start feeling the vibes.

After your two weeks you will have a better knowledge of the team and our rituals (if you are lucky, you will experience our after-work activities) and you will have given us feedback via your first Sprint retrospective; we are an open team that value different opinions to improve! The knowledge of our product will still be far from ideal but you will already know what an evaluation is and how we are improving access to health care.

After your first month you will have delivered several versions of our corporate app in Production improving small features. You will have a better knowledge of our product functionalities and how we are integrating them in our different customers. You will have had the chance to meet 1:1 with your teammates to share experiences.

And after three months, you will be able to:

• Develop Android projects from inception to final delivery autonomously.
• Maintain and further improve all the projects & products during post-production phase.
• Improve the SDK library that we are offering to our numerous clients.
• Migrate our Java based code to Kotlin & improve our architecture
• Be part of the team and improve your knowledge from other teammates :backend, iOS, web, UX/UI, QA
• Contribute to build clean code with proper unit tests to keep code optimized
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming
• Work with graphic designers to design new features
• Keep up with technological advances to optimise our software
• Communicate effectively of new technology trends with your team

What you need to have:

• Minimum experience: 5 years in Android development doing similar functions as specified in the job description (both Java and Kotlin)
• Android passionate focused on code quality and clean architectures.
• High generic object oriented development skills
• Software architectural and pattern knowledge and proven application of such
• Deep knowledge of the inner guts of the Android platform
• Extensive knowledge of the current trends of Android frameworks
• Experience developing delightful animated user interfaces & experiences in Android
• Knowledge in automated testing and QA procedures
• Good communication skills (English & Spanish)
