- 7+ years of experience working with API standards and best practices.
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in roles focused on API development (e.g., API Engineer, Software Engineer, or Backend Developer).
- At least 5 years of experience working with national or municipal standards in the public or governmental sector.
- Design, specify, and validate RESTful APIs using OpenAPI v3.x, ensuring compliance with municipal and industry standards.
- Translate municipal information models into logical bounded contexts to support scalable and maintainable API architectures.
- Set up and maintain automated testing pipelines to ensure API quality and reliability.
- Document and manage API contracts, including versioning and release notes, using GitHub.
- Act as the technical liaison between municipalities, vendors, and development teams.
- Participate in working groups and innovation labs such as Common Ground and Omnichannel, contributing to standards and best practices.
- Provide support to the Product Owner for ZGW APIs, ensuring architectural alignment and functional clarity.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Technical Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in designing and documenting RESTful APIs with OpenAPI specifications.
- Strong writing skills for producing clear documentation and developer tutorials.
- Solid background in DevOps, including Git/GitHub, CI/CD, and automated testing for APIs.
- Experience in managing developer communities or navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Hands-on experience with both backend and client-side API development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
- Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Works effectively in multidisciplinary teams and collaborative settings.
