Senior Database Administrator (f/m/d)

A Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring availability of data to applications and users required for the business to operate, and keeping it secure from unauthorized access or accidental loss or corruption.

Your tasks

• Ensure database system availability in a 24×7 environment
• Provide out of hours on-call support
• Maintain sound backup and recovery procedures
• Identify potential issues and raise business awareness before impact to the business
• Maintain and enhance database maintenance tasks
• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain multiple SQL environments adhering to company standards and best practices in a cost effective manner
• Implement and maintain database security meeting corporate IT security guidelines
• Troubleshoot performance and concurrency issues
• Database design and architecture
• Provide guidance on SQL Server internals to development teams
• Design and implement HA and DR solution architectures
• Support application code releases

Your profile

• Completed higher technical education or similar
• Min 5 years of experience as a SQL Server database administration.
• Solid experience working with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 and Azure SQL
• Experience working with multi-terabyte databases and highly concurrent OLTP transactions
• Highly experienced in SQL Server administration tasks like performance tuning & monitoring, backup strategy, capacity planning, user access management & security, business continuity & disaster recovery

Nice to have:

• Passion for SQL Server internals
• Experience using Version Control
• Knowledge of SAN – storage, Windows
• Powershell
