AWS Cloud Engineer (Production Support) – Contract – Oslo

Location: Oslo (hybrid – 1 day per week onsite)

Contract: 6 months (potential extension)

Day Rate: €300 per day

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with strong production support expertise to join a fast-moving project in Oslo. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, ensuring our cloud platforms are stable, secure, and scalable while also being hands-on with incident response and continuous improvement.

This is a contract role ideal for someone who thrives in high-availability environments, can work well under pressure, and enjoys solving complex cloud and infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support for AWS-hosted applications and infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure uptime, availability, and performance.
• Work on incident, problem, and change management processes in line with ITIL practices.
• Implement improvements for monitoring, alerting, and automation to reduce operational toil.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance reliability and streamline deployment processes.
• Support infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, ideally with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Maintain and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, ECS/EKS).
• Proven track record in production support and operational troubleshooting.
• Solid experience with Linux administration in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in high-availability, customer-facing systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Strong communication skills in English (Norwegian a plus).

Nice to Have

• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).
• Exposure to container platforms (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and enterprise production support processes.
