Intrinzic are proud to partner exclusively with an exciting tech start-up in Sydney CBD, who are building out a trading platform from scratch. The company is backed with a wealth of experience in this sector and are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer on a 6-month contract, to compliment their Engineering Team that has quickly grown to 15.

About The Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer who understands the reasoning behind frameworks, not just how to use them. You will work across both the front-end and backend of the platform, building scalable, secure, and performant systems that power real-time financial applications.

You have solid experience in Node.js back-end development paired with strong front-end skills. You enjoy tackling complex product challenges and are confident shaping both architecture and user experience from the ground up.

In this role, you’ll work across our entire product suite—including payments, registration, trading, and internal tools—taking full ownership from system design through to delivery.

Tech Stack

• Front-End: React, Astro, Web Components, TypeScript, JavaScript (strong fundamentals)
• Build Tools: Vite, Webpack
• Back-End: Node.js (Express or similar), REST APIs, GraphQL
• Testing: Playwright, Jest
• CI/CD: Bitbucket Pipelines, Git
• Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, CodeBuild)

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: design, develop, and maintain scalable apps across front and back end
• API Development - craft and optimize secure Node.js REST/GraphQL APIs and integrate with third-party services
• Database Design - implement and fine-tune relational and NoSQL schemas for scale and performance
• Front-End Development - build responsive, high-performance UIs for financial apps and tools
• Tech Selection - recommend and implement technologies across the stack with scalability, security, and UX in mind
• Collaborate & Lead - work cross-functionally, contribute to agile processes, and drive projects end-to-end

Core Projects

• Asset Management: dashboards integrating Sharesight, Open Banking & brokerage APIs
• Payments Gateway: secure APIs + React front-end for multi-vendor payments and account flows
• Registration & Accounts: end-to-end sign-up, login, KYC workflows & account dashboards
• Back Office Tools: internal apps for customer service, reconciliation & workflows

Key Experience

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript across front and back end
• Deep React experience (plus comfort with other frameworks)
• Node.js expertise, building REST/GraphQL APIs
• Database experience (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or similar)
• Familiarity with build tools, testing frameworks & CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3)
• Bonus: containerization (Docker) and microservices
