Radar Embedded Engineer (all genders)

TieTalent
Austria · Full-time · Entry

Join our mission to revolutionize automotive sensing with cutting-edge radar technology. At Zendar, we are building high-resolution radar systems that enable the next generation of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. As part of our radar development team, you will play a central role in shaping the intelligence inside our sensor – where embedded systems meet high-performance signal processing.

We are looking for a passionate and curious Embedded Engineer who thrives on pushing the boundaries of what's technically possible. This is your chance to develop software that runs on complex, high-performance radar systems and impacts the future of mobility.

You will contribute directly to the development of Zendar's radar platform, with responsibilities spanning architecture, implementation, integration, and testing. Your work will connect hardware and software, enabling radar sensors that see the world in unprecedented detail.

We are a team of engineers, researchers, and innovators redefining what radar can do. You'll work with global experts in radar, perception, and embedded systems, in an open and collaborative environment. At Zendar, you're not just writing firmware – you're helping machines understand the world.

  • Designing, creating, and modeling the software architecture for Zendar's automotive radar prototype platform
  • Developing firmware components from initial concept through coding, validation, debugging and optimization
  • Integrating and optimizing signal processing components into the embedded system
  • Collaborating with semiconductor manufacturers, automotive industry partners, and customers to refine and improve Zendar-specific technologies
  • Performing error analysis and debugging, and continuously enhancing system reliability
  • Creating and executing test strategies to ensure high system quality and robustness
  • Collaborating with an international team to integrate your deliverables
  • A completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, ideally with a focus on embedded software engineering
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained systems, including RTOS or embedded Linux environments
  • Experienced Python user
  • Hands-on experience with ARM32 RISC processors
  • A strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in (automotive) radar software development
  • Familiarity with series development of automotive systems
  • Understanding of radar signal processing and mapping to hardware accelerators
  • Experience in test-driven development
  • German language skills
  • Opportunity to make an impact at a young, venture-backed company in an emerging market
  • Competitive salary ranging from EUR 85k - 110k a year depending on experience plus share options
  • Hybrid work model: in office 3 days per week (Tuesday till Thursday), the rest… work from wherever!
  • Daily lunch supported by a fixed amount for in-office days to be used freely at your discretion
