DevOps Engineer m/w/d

We are currently looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to support our client, a leading company in the telco sector, in the development and operation of a modern B2B billing platform. You’ll be part of a small, agile team that values collaboration, clean code, and customer-centric solutions.

Location: Greater Bern area (Hybrid – up to 3 days/week remote after onboarding)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Temporary position via Hays

Language Requirement: English C1 (French/German a plus)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and operate innovative features for a B2B billing system
• Backend development with Java, Spring Boot, OPA
• Frontend development with React
• Optimize database performance (PostgreSQL)
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality output
• Manage deployments, releases, and system monitoring
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system availability

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Fluent English (C1)
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Maven
• Solid SQL and relational database design skills
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Git, and agile frameworks
• System design and architecture know-how

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with GraphQL
• Frontend skills with React & JavaScript
• French and/or German language skills
