About the Role

Our large enterprise client are currently seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead their enterprise-wide cyber security strategy in Belgium. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust security framework that ensures compliance with EU directives (NIS2, GDPR) and Belgian regulations, while protecting both IT and OT infrastructures critical to our business.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the cyber security strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Oversee IT & OT security governance, policies, and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian and EU security regulations (GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001).
• Lead security incident management and crisis response at board level.
• Manage relationships with regulators, government agencies, and external partners.
• Establish and manage KPIs and reporting to the executive board.
• Build, lead, and mentor the cyber security team.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in cyber security leadership, with at least 5 in senior management.
• Strong expertise in risk management, governance, compliance, and OT/critical infrastructure security.
• Proven ability to engage with C-level executives and regulators in Belgium.
• Fluent in English and at least Dutch or French.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCISO are highly valued.
