The Challenge

We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to join our Platform domain, whose mission is to build and maintain the common building blocks of our system with a "Platform as a Product" mindset. We abstract and simplify the use of these complex, critical components, enabling product teams to focus on their core mission: building products faster for healthcare professionals and patients.

As one of the leaders of the Applicative Platform stream, you'll support hands-on development of critical platform components while leading initiatives that shape Doctolib's architectural standards across the entire engineering organization.

Working in our tech team means building products that directly improve healthcare for millions of patients and healthcare professionals across Europe. You will work closely with other senior staff engineers, platform teams, product and engineering stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Your Impact

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead and contribute to cross-cutting architectural initiatives that shape our engineering standards
• Support engineering teams in adopting platform guidelines and best practices
• Build and prototype platform components through hands-on development and proof-of-concepts
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define our platform's technical direction
• Drive complex technical explorations that unlock our platform's evolution
  
  
  

About Our Tech Environment

• Our solutions are built on a single fully cloud-native platform that supports web and mobile app interfaces, multiple languages, and is adapted to the country and healthcare specialty requirements. To address these challenges, we are modularizing our platform run in a distributed architecture through reusable components.
• Our stack is composed of Rails, TypeScript, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift, and React Native.
• We have already extracted 20 runtimes from our monolith and aim to reach 100+ services in the next 3 years.
  
  
  

Your profile

You will be the best fit for this position if you have:

• Exceptional skills in architectural patterns and best practices
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot
• Extensive experience with distributed services and patterns
• Experience at scale, leading complex technical projects
• Hands-on profile with proven ability to implement solutions, not just design them
• Good infrastructure and DevOps knowledge
• Experience from scale-up companies is appreciated
