Artificial Intelligence Data Scientist

We are currently seeking an AI/ML Data Scientist who will be responsible for leading advanced analytics and AI initiatives. This role will be central to leveraging machine learning, data science, and AI solutions to unlock business value across a diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, manage a team of data scientists/analysts and collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement data-driven strategies that support growth ambitions.

Our client based in Dubai, is one of the largest semi-government organisations in the region. This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and is renewable.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic AI Leadership

• Lead the development and execution of the company’s AI and data science roadmap.
• Partner with business leaders to identify high-value opportunities where AI/ML can drive measurable impact.
• Champion a data-driven culture across the organization.

Model Development & Deployment

• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI/ML models (predictive analytics, NLP, computer vision, recommendation engines, generative AI, etc.).
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects: problem framing, data preparation, model building, validation, and production deployment.
• Ensure models meet performance, interpretability, and ethical AI standards.

Data Management & Collaboration

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, accessibility, and pipeline efficiency.
• Work closely with IT and MLOps teams to ensure models are integrated into business systems and monitored in production.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and AI specialists.
• Foster innovation and continuous learning within the team.
• Build internal capability and knowledge-sharing practices across the Group.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Translate complex AI solutions into actionable insights and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior executives and decision-makers.
• Collaborate with external vendors, academic institutions, and technology partners to strengthen AI capability.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI/ML, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in data science and AI, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Proven track record of delivering AI/ML solutions that created measurable business impact (preferably in real estate, retail, hospitality, or investment domains).
• Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and predictive modeling.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
