FIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ (“FWWC2027”).

THE POSITION

The Senior Manager, Accommodation will help serve Accommodation efforts for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, in hosting 32 teams and 1,200+ players across Brazil. This role will be responsible for managing lodging and hotel-related arrangements for the event, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for participants and attendees while providing leadership to entire Accommodations function. Further, this role will have a range of responsibilities, including the selection and contracting of hotels, room allocations and reservations, room inventory management, account management, accommodation strategies, quality assurance, and overall management of aspects related to accommodation for the event.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support in the execution of the comprehensive accommodation strategy, considering the diverse needs of participants, teams, officials, core and non-core guests.
  • Defining (together with other FIFA Zurich departments and FWWC27) assumptions for hotel rooms, function spaces and other hotel services for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and ancillary events.
  • Support of the accommodations budget, tracking expenditures and optimizing cost efficiencies without compromising quality and comfort.
  • Lead in the selection and contracting process of VIP, Staff, and other hotels, ensuring they meet quality standards, capacity requirements, and comply with contractual obligations. Maintain regular collaboration with FIFA Zurich to provide consistent updates on the progress of hotel sourcing.
  • Oversee the room block and reservation management.
  • Support in the development and implementation of contingency plans to address unforeseen changes, cancellations, or emergencies in accommodation arrangements.
  • Collaboration with other departments and stakeholders to integrate accommodation services with overall event operations and ensure seamless coordination.
  • Support the relationship with external agencies required to fulfil services to Core and non-Core groups.
  • Organizing site visits and being responsible for on-site operations and hotel management.
  • Leading the portions of the respective project team during preparation, on-site operation and reconciliation phase of FWWC27
  • Uphold and enforce high standards of customer service, ensuring participants and guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience during their stay.
  • Establish and managing relationships with the hotel industry and with the different Functional Areas within FWWC27 to ensure records of accommodation bookings, rooming lists, and related information comply with data integrity and protection regulations.
  • Manage both the permanent and temporary accommodation teams by developing a staffing plan in coordination with FIFA Zurich, overseeing the recruitment of the operational team, defining their roles, and ensuring their training and preparation.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar level of education
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in the hospitality industry
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written
  • Experience managing complex projects
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
  • Right to work in Brazil.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written)
  • Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
