UX Designer

Start: ASAP

Location: hybrid, Manchester (2 days per week on site)

Pay: INSIDE IR35, up to £360 p/day

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented UX Content Designer to join our growing digital team. This role will focus on designing clear, accessible content that enhances user journeys across onboarding forms and account opening experiences. You'll play a key role in shaping the content that supports users throughout their digital interactions, ensuring language is inclusive, consistent, and aligned with best practices in content design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write clear, concise, and user-centred content for onboarding forms and account opening journeys.
  • Collaborate closely with UX and UI designers to ensure content aligns with interaction flows and visual hierarchy.
  • Develop and maintain content patterns and guidelines to drive consistency across journeys.
  • Translate complex regulatory or operational requirements into plain English that users can understand.
  • Support the creation of correspondence templates, such as confirmation emails and rejection notices.
  • Conduct content audits and contribute to usability testing to assess the effectiveness of written content.
  • Work within agile teams to deliver iterative improvements based on user feedback and organisational priorities.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a UX Content Designer, UX Writer, or in a similar digital content role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating work on digital forms, onboarding experiences, or transactional user journeys.
  • Understanding of GOV.UK content design principles and accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG).
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for a range of audiences.
  • Proficient in using design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Sketch, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in facilitating discussions with stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience within financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Co-Op Design System or similar component libraries.
  • Understanding of address validation and personalisation tools such as Experian PCCA or Hopewiser. .
