PHP API Developer

We are seeking a PHP API developer to join a reputable client that specialises in end-to-end telecommunications solutions, including charging, billing, and core network solutions for mobile operators.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend developers.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs that are secure, fast, and resilient, enforcing input validation and data protection, and applying rate limiting, encryption, and transport security.
• Maintain clear versioning, consistent error handling, and strong observability (structured logs, metrics, tracing).
• Documenting APIs using OpenAPI
• Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to promote code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise and provide timely resolutions.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience working with PHP8+, Symfony, SQL and OpenAPI
• Experience with Databases (Oracle, Postgres) would be advantageous
• Nginx experience would be advantageous
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a small team environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present ideas clearly.
• Independent thinker
• Experience with version control systems, such as GitHub
• Experience with docker containers would be advantageous
• Understanding of Linux-based operating systems (Redhat)

Nice to Have:

• Kubernetes
• Podman
