Java Software Engineer

A software security-focussed company in the Walloon region is searching for a new Java developer on an employee contract to help modernise current legacy software/systems and continue to influence a team of 9 developers for years to come!

YOUR ROLE?

• Contribute to the migration of legacy applications into a modern technical stack.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Implement and optimize microservices architecture for high-performance systems.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure code quality through testing, peer reviews, and best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across the team

YOUR EXPERIENCE?

• 5+ years experience in Java (preferably Java 17/21) and modern development practices.
• Experience with Spring Boot and building microservices.
• Good understanding in migrating or modernizing legacy systems.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, and integration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes is a plus).
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to scalability, security, and maintainability.
