Join a passionate group of engineers, collaborating closely with Product, Data Analytics, and other vital engineering teams like Payments, Fulfillment, and Customer Care. Together, you'll design and deliver impactful projects that redefine how we serve our customers. Leverage Technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes to build robust services and data pipelines. Your work will lay the foundation for critical customer offerings, empowering millions. But this isn't just about code and infrastructure. You'll be a vital contributor, providing invaluable support and expertise to tackle complex business challenges, both for our valued Zalando customers and our internal teams.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Deliver, operate, monitor and optimize microservices in a complex distributed environment.
• Take ownership of design, development, and deployment of large-scale engineering solutions collaborating closely with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to be in line with our overall tech strategy and architecture.
• Be in the driver's seat. You enjoy being proactive, addressing complex business problems and taking the initiative to independently explore and understand them.
• Establish and enforce coding quality standards throughout the engineering lifecycle and set up mechanisms to proactively identify and address issues before they impact business flows or customer experience.
• Deliver high quality software by designing for resilience and scalability and building on a solid foundation of automated testing, API design best practices and proven architectural patterns.
• Contribute to our growing engineering community and share your knowledge in an agile work environment.
  
  
  

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

You have

• Knowledge of object oriented programming paradigm and languages, such as Java and Kotlin
• Experience in designing, developing, and operating microservices in a complex distributed environment
• 3 - 5 years of experience as a backend engineer for cloud-based technologies (preferably on AWS )
• Strong passion for developing clean, well maintainable, and testable code
• High enthusiasm for continued personal development in discovering new technologies and software services.
• Knowledge in automated deployment and monitoring through CI/CD pipeline ( Docker , Kubernetes , or similar)
• Good verbal and written English communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical topics and solutions clearly and concisely.
