Head of Network & Infrastructure

Hays Services is collaborating with a global innovator and supplier of low-carbon and alternative-fuelled powertrains.

As a Network Cloud Specialist, you will be a key player in building and operating the network layer of our hybrid infrastructure. You will work closely with our Cloud Network Lead to design, deploy, and secure connectivity between our cloud environments (GCP, Azure) and our global backbone. Automation and Infrastructure as Code are at the heart of our strategy, so we are looking for profiles with strong coding and networking capabilities.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Design and deploy network architectures in GCP and Azure using Terraform.
• Build and manage hybrid connectivity: VPNs, Interconnects, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN.
• Implement and maintain network automation, templates, and CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with security teams on solutions such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), firewalls, and segmentation strategies.
• Integrate cloud environments with our Equinix-based global core and on-premise sites.
• Troubleshoot incidents and performance issues across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

What are the requirements?

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, including 2+ years in cloud networking.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Deep understanding of GCP and/or Azure networking (VPCs, routing, firewalls, load balancers).
• Experience with hybrid architectures and secure cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with Zscaler, SD-WAN (preferably Fortinet), and routing protocols.
• Solid knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and segmentation strategies.
• High level of English and strong communication/documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Certifications such as GCP Network Engineer, Azure Network Engineer, CCNP, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of GitOps practices, CI/CD tools, and monitoring.
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
