About the Role
We're seeking a seasoned, hands-on Principal Product Designer to own and evolve the core practice management experience. This critical role is responsible for developing and communicating a design vision experiences that enable bookings, patient and practitioner allocation, creation and management of comprehensive documentation and deliver critical reporting for practice owners. As we scale internationally, you'll build a deep understanding of allied health practitioner needs across Australia, UK, and US markets, ensuring our scheduling, documentation and reporting features work seamlessly across different healthcare systems and regulatory environments. As the senior designer within splose, you will also lead the establishment of a design system and work closely with engineering peers to uplevel design across the entire splose platform. You will work closely with and be a trusted mentor for our wider design team.
What you'll do
Core Scheduling & Booking Management
- Drive improvements in practitioner utilisation rates and patient accessibility through optimised booking experiences
- Deliver scheduling solutions that adapt to varying practice sizes, from solo practitioners to multi-location enterprises
Patient & Practitioner Allocation
- Increase practice operational efficiency through intelligent resource allocation and capacity management
- Enable seamless coordination across multiple practitioners, locations, and treatment modalities
- Reduce scheduling conflicts and administrative overhead while maintaining high-quality patient care standards
Documentation & Session Management
- Streamline clinical documentation workflows to reduce administrative burden while ensuring comprehensive patient records
- Ensure documentation capabilities meet regulatory and compliance requirements across all target markets
- Minimise time spent on administrative tasks while maximising focus on patient care and treatment quality
Critical Reporting & Analytics
- Provide practice owners with actionable insights to optimise business performance and operational efficiency
- Enable data-driven decision making through comprehensive reporting on key practice metrics
- Deliver financial visibility and forecasting capabilities that support practice growth and sustainability
- Ensure compliance reporting meets regulatory requirements while providing strategic business intelligence
International Market Adaptation
- Research and understand allied health practitioner workflows and regulatory requirements across Australia, UK, and other target markets
- Adapt scheduling and documentation features to comply with local healthcare regulations and standards
- Design localisation frameworks that support different time zones, currencies, and language requirements
- Build market-specific reporting capabilities that align with local business practices and compliance needs
What you'll bring
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of product design experience, preferably in SaaS
- Proven track record of building and scaling design systems
- Extensive experience with industry standard design tools
- A strong foundation in design principles including hierarchy, grids, responsive design, Gestalt, colour and typography
- Confidence delivering high-quality UI and interaction design that meets accessibility standards
- The ability to manage and supply development-ready design assets
- A clear, thoughtful approach to collaboration, critique and mentoring
- A relevant design or business-related degree (or equivalent experience)
- Planning and running user research and usability testing sessions
- Mapping out user journeys across digital, and occasionally non-digital, touchpoints
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in B2B SaaS products serving professional services or healthcare markets
- Experience with international product expansion and multi-market compliance requirements

While we’re proudly based in Adelaide, we’re a flexible, multi-city team — and welcome candidates from Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne to join us wherever you do your best work! Our teams in Adelaide and Sydney work in a hybrid environment, while our Melbourne team is fully remote for now.
