The Position

As part of a strategic team transition, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join ALTEN Netherlands and contribute to cutting-edge projects in the high-tech sector. This role requires a strong background in control systems, architecture, and multidisciplinary integration.

As a Senior Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and evolving the architecture design of control systems within complex mechatronic machines
• Developing and maintaining advanced control algorithms in MATLAB and Python
• Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams (physics, mechatronics, software, and hardware) to ensure smooth integration of control solutions
• Applying your experience in the hardware domain to bridge the gap between software and physical systems
• Contributing to procedure development and documentation, enabling scalability and knowledge transfer within the team

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's in Physics, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields
• Around 8-10 years of professional experience, preferably in a high-tech or system integration environment
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB and Python
• Solid understanding of hardware-software integration, with hands-on experience in complex technical environments
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving capabilities, and attention to structured procedures
• Fluent in English and excellent in cross-functional communication
• Proactive, independent, and motivated to take ownership of architectural and procedural topics
