What do you need to be SMART BackEnd?

• 4+ years of experience building backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of Python and Typescript.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Experience with databases (MongoDB preferred) focusing on schema design, optimization and integrity.
• Familiarity with GIT, Docker and Data Structures (nice to have).
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Collaborative spirit, thriving in a startup/scale-up environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Based in Lisbon and available for 2 days/week in the office.

What will your role be at SMART?

• Build & Scale: design, develop, test, deploy and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs.
• Data Management: ensure data consistency, optimization and scalability.
• Collaborate: work closely with product, design and engineering teams to deliver impactful features.
• Optimize: monitor performance, troubleshoot and continuously improve backend infrastructure.
• Innovate: bring new ideas to technical challenges and product evolution.
