DevOps Engineer

SCRYPT is seeking to hire a smart and highly motivated DevOps Engineer. Are you a driven and ambitious DevOps Engineer with a passion for automation, CI/CD, and state-of-the-art tooling? In this role, you’ll enable development teams to move faster and safer by delivering stable, scalable, and secure build and deployment environments - while migrating manual operations to Infrastructure-as-Code and elevating our platform reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Select, implement, and manage cutting-edge DevOps platforms, paved-roads, and self-service solutions for engineering teams.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), including Docker image build/publish, SBOMs, and automated rollbacks.
• Leverage cloud platforms - primarily AWS (IAM, VPC, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, WAF, CloudWatch/CloudTrail); Azure/GCP experience is a plus.
• Migrate to Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform practices with predictive automation to ensure reliable, repeatable, scalable, secure and cost-efficient infrastructure deployments.
• Kubernetes Day-1: Stand up clusters (EKS preferred), baseline add-ons such as Karpenter, ingress controllers, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), CNI, storage classes.
• Kubernetes Day-2: Package with Helm (orchestration is a plus), enable GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux), progressive delivery (blue/green/canary), support incident response and performance tuning.
• Secrets Management: Operate AWS Secrets Manager / SSM Parameter Store / HashiCorp Vault; implement automated rotation, KMS envelope encryption, and secret-leak prevention (e.g., Gitleaks).
• Cloudflare Ownership: Manage DNS, CDN, WAF/Rate Limiting, Bot Management, Zero Trust/Access, and Tunnels; automate via API/Terraform.
• Observability: Deliver end-to-end monitoring/logging/traceability with Prometheus, Loki/EFK, Grafana, eBPF-based tools (e.g., Pixie), plus APM/RUM; define SLIs/SLOs and reduce MTTR.
• DevSecOps: Integrate CloudTrail, Security Hub, GuardDuty; wire vulnerability scanners (Snyk, Wiz, Trivy) into CI/CD; enforce CIS benchmarks and OPA/Kyverno policies; sign images (Cosign).
• Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with developers/testers on integration & release issues; document architectures, runbooks, and standards.

 Job requirements

• 5+ years as a DevOps/Platform/SRE engineer running production systems.
• Strong programming in Python (for automation/tests); proficiency in Bash; Go/TypeScript is a plus.
• Proven experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD and automated build environments.
• Hands-on containerization with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred) management.
• Practical AWS expertise; exposure to Azure/GCP is a plus.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
• Access & identity management (RBAC, IAM) and Agile ways of working.
• Solid security mindset: secrets management (Secrets Manager/SSM/Vault), KMS, vulnerability scanning (Snyk/Wiz), CloudTrail/Security Hub/GuardDuty, and hardening to CIS.
• Excellent communication skills; able to be a sparring partner for engineers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Fluent English speaker; additional languages are a plus.
