Full Stack Engineer

Our client, an accounting and tax software company, is actively hiring a remote fullstack Software Engineer to join their Platform and Development team in Canada!

*This is a 1 year contract with paid holidays offered*

In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing observability, monitoring, and performance for their interview service, dynamic graphlet service, and player applications. These core components are the building blocks for their company offerings and are mission critical for delivering high-performance, scalable, and reliable user expeirences. In this role, you will be focusing on embedding observability into the front-end (ReactJS), native mobile (Swift/Kotlin), and backend (Java/Kotlin).

Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance end-to-end observability across front-end, mobile, and backend services
• Implement paved-road observability solutions, including Opentelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana to create a view of system health
• Analyze applications and system telemetry to detect performance bottlenecks and optimize code performance
• Partner with senior engineers, SREs, and platform architects to align observability initiatives
• Create detailed documentation, playbooks, and runbooks for observability systems and performance tuning strategies

Skills:

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience using Java/Kotlin, React, and mobile (Swift/Kotlin)
• Experience with observability tools, including Datadog, Splunk OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Experience with distributed tracing solutions for instrumenting back-end and front-end systems
