Head of Cyber Operations

Talent International, a leading Australian recruitment firm, have been engaged by our long-standing client, a leading entertainment organisation. We are seeking a Head of Cyber Operations to join their team.

• Head of Cyber Operations
• Location + WFH Flexibility: Sydney | Hybrid model (4 days in the office)
• Salary: Up to $230K inclusive of super + 20% bonus
• Interview Process: 2-3 stages

Role Details

• Lead the advancement of the organisation's cyber defence capabilities through strategic oversight, operational excellence, and a focus on continuous improvement
• Develop and implement the Cyber Resilience Operations Strategy, ensuring it meets business goals, regulatory requirements, and adapts to the evolving threat landscape
• Maintain and enhance the incident response framework, ensuring plans and processes remain effective and compliant
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Centre (SOC), ensuring incident response targets and service levels are achieved
• Direct and guide investigations of security alerts across a variety of platforms, including antivirus, IPS, firewall logs, DLP incidents, proxy data, and threat intelligence feeds
• Drive ongoing improvement of SOC tooling and automation, including SIEM, EDR, and related technologies
• Provide strong leadership, coaching and mentoring to a diverse team, supporting both professional growth and capability uplift

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated strength in preparing reports and executive-level presentations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders
• Experience in developing and delivering training and communication initiatives
• Strong background in process documentation and governance
• Leadership and motivational ability in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, or related industry certifications
