Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Who are we?
Santander Auto Software is a greenfield programme, where we are building a brand-new, state of the art software platform and product suite for the auto finance industry, that will be rolled out in 13 countries across Europe and the UK.
The business is 100% tech focused, remote first, and comprised of skilled cross-border software builders, and with a leadership team with accomplished backgrounds from major global tech tech players.
You will be partners with, not providers to, colleagues in product and the business. There will be no order takers and no order givers. Together with your partners in product and business, you will share equally in decisions about features, dates, and priority. More importantly, you will share equally in the results produced by the software you partnered to build and evolve. That’s a lot of responsibility, but we know that’s the new role of technology in every part of our lives and as software builders we’re excited to co-own the results, not just the effort.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)to join our team, with a solid background in building test frameworks from scratch.
This role requires working across a board range of technologies and liaises across all areas of the business to write code to test applications via automation. You will create automation frameworks with custom code designed to make testing specific applications easier and more reliable.
In this role you will:
- Focus on test design and development, ensuring an application is well tested from a coverage and completeness perspective.
- Design and write complex testing software.
- Generate test data programmatically.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines. (Continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines)
- Performance testing, load testing and security testing
- Debug scripts and identify system flaws and altering code as necessary / working with engineers to change the code
- Analyse software programs
- Create automated testing frameworks
- Write code to improve the overall testability of the software
- Work closely with our engineering tests to fix coding issues
- Identify ways for end users and consumers will work with the software and help create the best experience for the intended user by identifying areas needing continued adjustments
Qualifications/Requirements
- High level of proficiency in programming/designing in one or more of Kotlin/Java/JavaScript/TypeScript
- Detailed knowledge of testing methodologies.
- Knowledge about Automation, Agile + DevOps exposure.
- Proven troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in an agile organization and engineering teams.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong communicator across all levels
- Be a good team player, passionate about what you do with great listening and communication skills – you will be interacting with everyone – team members to leadership.
- Self-motivation, and comfort with working in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
LOCATIONS
SAS has implemented a working from home model. This means that your workplace is your home residence as aligned to your contract. We can hire in Spain, Portugal or the Netherlands.
