About the Role

Our client, an internationally active logistics group headquartered in Rotterdam, is seeking a Senior HR Specialist to establish and oversee its Dutch HR operations. With the organization in growth mode both locally and abroad, this role is key to building a strong HR foundation in the Netherlands while contributing to group-wide HR alignment.

You will work closely with leadership to put the right structures in place, implement HR systems, and ensure Dutch HR compliance and administration run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up & align HR policies and employment contracts for the Dutch entity.
• Manage day-to-day HR administration for a local team of ~15 employees and a small number of expats.
• Implement Zoho People (SI-HR system): leave registration, digital personnel files, and contract archive.
• Advise and support managers as a trusted HR sparring partner.
• Deliver quarterly leadership workshops on topics such as:
• Performance management & evaluations
• KPI development
• HR/QHSE integration
• Emerging HR trends
• Contribute to HR harmonization efforts across group entities in Suriname, Namibia, Dubai, and Mozambique.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as an HR Specialist, HR Business Partner, or similar senior HR role.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law, compliance, and HR best practices.
• Experience in implementing HRIS systems (Zoho People preferred).
• Excellent communication and advisory skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies.
• Hands-on approach, comfortable balancing strategic and operational HR tasks.
• Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
