DevOps Consultant

Job Title: Open Systems DevOps Engineer (Jenkins, Chef, Terraform, Perl)

Required Skills

CI/CD & Automation: Strong experience in Jenkins pipeline creation, Groovy scripting, and shared libraries.

Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on with Terraform (modules, workspaces, remote state, multi-cloud).

Configuration Management: Proficient in Chef (Cookbooks, Policyfiles, Test Kitchen, InSpec).

Scripting: Strong knowledge of Perl (log parsing, automation utilities, integrations) plus Shell/Python for Unix/Linux systems.

Open Systems Expertise: Solid background in Unix/Linux administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Version Control & Collaboration: Git, GitHub/GitLab, code review practices.

Cloud & Containers: AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).

Monitoring & Security: Familiar with CI/CD observability, secrets management, and compliance tools.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins for build, test, and deployment.

Develop and manage Terraform IaC modules to provision and manage infrastructure in cloud and on-premise Open Systems environments.

Automate server and application configuration using Chef, ensuring consistency across environments.

Write and maintain Perl scripts for automation, log parsing, and integration with external systems.

Collaborate with developers, architects, and system admins to streamline deployments and improve reliability.

Implement infrastructure security, compliance checks, and monitoring in the DevOps pipeline.

Troubleshoot build/release issues and support production deployments.

Continuously improve DevOps practices by introducing new tools, workflows, and automation standards.
