DevOps Engineer

Our client is a global payments provider continuously improving the world of payments by offering smart, innovative and scalable industry-specific solutions as well as providing secure and cost effective payment products to businesses of every size. Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (UK), currently holding a full European EMoney license.

We are looking for a candidate to join our team to help accelerate our platform migration to AWS ECS using Terraform, GitHub Actions and Datadog. Over the last 6 months, our team has successfully deployed Datadog as our observability platform, achieving 95% monitoring coverage across all services and significantly improving our incident response capabilities. Moving forward, we're focused on completing our ECS migration, implementing advanced GitOps workflows, and building self-service developer platforms to enhance our engineering velocity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement our Kubernetes (ECS) platform on AWS
• Maintain and optimise our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Implement and manage observability using Datadog across our platform
• Support and enhance our AWS cloud infrastructure
• Architect, review, audit, optimise and document our deployment processes
• Follow best practice change management processes aligned with our ISO27001 and PCI-DSS requirements
• Work with development teams to enable self-service capabilities (developer experience)
• Assist with incident response and platform support
• Analyse and optimize cloud costs across our infrastructure

Core Skills:

• 3+ years’ experience in a senior AWS platform/DevOps engineering role with a minimum of 5 years DevOps experience
• Experience designing AWS multi-region, highly available architectures
• Strong Kubernetes experience, particularly with AWS ECS
• Strong experience working with AWS ECS docker migrations
• Experience implementing and managing Datadog observability
• Strong AWS knowledge across compute, database and security services
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Solid understanding of container security and best practices
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash)
• Experience working in regulated environments (PCI-DSS preferred)
• Self-motivated individual with strong communication skills
• Ability to work on projects with multiple workstreams and competing deadlines
