Location: Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid – Twice in 2 weeks)

Job description:

• We are looking for a skilled and proactive Backend Developer to join our team, primarily working on ActiveViam-based projects.
• The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot), intermediate experience with Python and Unix, and a solid understanding of data processing and modelling.
• While experience with ActiveViam is a strong plus, it is not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using ActiveViam’s Active Pivot technology.
• Implement complex financial data models and analytical systems for market risk P&L using Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
• Develop and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for financial data.
• Develop comprehensive unit and system tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Make use of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Urban Code.
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of development experience in enterprise applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java development, including Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.
• Solid experience with Python for data processing and automation.
• Thorough understanding of Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with development and implementation of unit and system testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions and Urban Code.
• High level of English proficiency with excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Activeviams Active Pivot (highly desired).
• Knowledge of Activeviams Active UI and front-end development with React.
• Basic understanding of financial products, market risk, P&L systems, and trading concepts. Familiarity with data generated in Murex.
• Hands-on experience with Control-M for job scheduling in production environments.
• AWS knowledge.
