Compliance Specialist - Monitor Liaison Office (MLO)

This role will be focused on supporting the MLO team by performing compliance and assurance reviews on Monitor requests for information, assisting in creating material to reflect company practice and aid walkthroughs of processes. You will work closely with Compliance Leaders, Audit, Legal, Product, and Business Lines to ensure a complete and compliant output is provided to the Monitor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assurance reviews to ensure information being sent to the monitor is accurate, complete and in line with company protocols and procedures, making sure relevant approvals are obtained prior to official submission.
  • Provide feedback to a broad range of stakeholders on improvements to information submitted and detailing the underlying reasons in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with a broad suite of stakeholders in compiling information/walkthrough material, being able to assert influence with non-compliance colleagues allowing them to understand MLO approach.
  • Prepare for and partake in off-sites at the request of the monitor allowing for a smooth and compliant experience, ensuring key agenda items are covered.
  • Support other MLO colleagues in ad-hoc projects, providing compliance and regulatory experience to safeguard the organisation.
  • Work in a fast paced dynamic environment with colleagues across the globe to meet internal and external service level agreements.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years compliance and/or monitorship management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services regulations, compliance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization while maintaining close contact with relevant teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and written skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts into a format digestible by a diverse audience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to create external facing material in conjunction with internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive and diligent teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of dealing with complex projects.
  • BA degree or international equivalent.
  • Experience gained from crypto/fintech is preferred
