Looking to hire a Data Scientist for one of the Major banks in Canada

Location: Toronto, Hybrid 1-Day in Office

Job type: Contract(6 Months) - High possibility of Extention

Pay : CAD$70/Hour

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Data Scientist with strong statistics modeling experience with an understanding of ML code logic. The ideal candidate will be providing analytics, insights and data science support for ad-hoc files migration strategic solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Support the entire process of code migrations and validations
• Advise executives and business partners with new ideas for opportunities to simplify or optimize the files production process , assess data quality and accuracy in cloud, perform deep dive analytics, make actionable recommendations to stakeholders
• Proactively identify opportunities and close gaps in understanding data flows and code logic etc
• Design data validation rules and monitor migration errors
• Ensure data compliance during transfers
• Document technical details for business stakeholders
• Generate and deliver a weekly update of project and pipeline to stakeholders
• Display proficiency in advanced analytics – clustering, segmentation, feature engineering, predictive modeling etc. is preferred
• Display proficiency in PySpark/Python/Azure

Qualifications:

• Coding: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and SQL (writing complex queries, stored procedures, data extraction)
• 7+ years’ experience in Data science, Modeling and Analytics
• Expertise in Supervised and Unsupervised machine learning models
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure etc)
• Data Handling - Experience working with large and complex datasets, often requiring data cleansing. Projects involving 10 million+ record migrations
• Analytical/Data Consultant - Requires a strong understanding of data structures and ability to connect technical data elements with business definitions
• Deep knowledge and interest in bank product features, customers behaviors and customer models
• Understanding of data assets – cloud zones, Enterprise data warehouse
• Perform ancillary activities and more to ingest/export data
• Strong analytical skills and communication skills
• Problem solving abilities
