Machine Learning Engineer

Aptitude Global is seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI team in Spain.

You will work on complex datasets from industries such as legal, pharma, financial services, or energy, applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science techniques to solve business-critical problems. This role involves building predictive models, using graph databases, and incorporating generative AI techniques to unlock insights and create value.

What do I need to do?

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance data and ML pipelines.
• Design, implement, and optimize backend services and APIs to serve ML models and data-driven functionalities to internal and customer-facing applications.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain ML models in production, ensuring availability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and DevOps to ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, cost-efficient, and aligned with business goals.
• Define and promote best practices for backend development and cloud infrastructure management (preferably AWS).
• Monitor production ML services for downtime, performance degradation, and model drift.
• Contribute to the design of data architectures and complex ETL processes.
• Evaluate and validate new tools and technologies for ML development and infrastructure management.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What skills and experience do I need?

• Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Backend Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong skills in Python and SQL.
• Solid experience building and maintaining APIs (Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks) and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and services such as SageMaker, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and S3.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of data security and management best practices.
• Solid experience in developing and maintaining complex, scalable data pipelines.
• Ability to effectively present technical solutions to various stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

I have probably got this experience or done these jobs before (nice to have):

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in legal, pharma, financial services, or energy industries.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Background in data systems within the Pharma or Healthcare sectors.
