Senior Golang Engineer

Location: Poland, Remote

Reports To: VP of Engineering

Remuneration: up to 10.500 USD / month depending on experience

The company does not provide any benefits beyond statutory holidays in the Senior Engineer’s country of residence and 15 days of paid vacation per year.

Client profile: Web3 Infrastructure Company

A fast-growing blockchain data infrastructure company that has positioned itself as the "Google for Web3." They provide real-time on-chain data indexing and correlation services to hundreds of projects across the crypto industry.

The company operates at the intersection of blockchain technology, big data, and enterprise infrastructure - requiring continuous adaptation to new protocols and emerging Web3 use cases.

About The Role

The Senior Engineer is responsible for:

• designing,
• building,
• testing, and
• documenting
  
  

software components in collaboration with other members of technical team.

Senior engineers are expected to be relatively autonomous. They are given high level goals and are then expected to map a path to success. Self-directed execution is critical.

The engineering team is currently located in China, Central Europe, and India. The Senior Engineer will need to be flexible enough to accommodate all of those timezones.

The company is a startup. The environment is chaotic. The Senior Engineering candidate will embrace and thrive in unpredictability.

Responsibilities

Design solutions to product or infrastructure problems. These problems may be brought by anyone in the organization. Prioritizing these is up to the VPE. Designs will be reviewed by the VPE or Lead Architect.

Build software that conforms to the approved design. Software is reviewed by peers and, occasionally, by the VPE.

Test software prior to delivery. This implies the building and maintenance of unit and integration tests.

Document software prior to delivery. The Senior Engineer is responsible for documentation on two levels:

• Within the source code.
• Within the project in the form of a README and associated files.
  
  

The Senior Engineer is not responsible for public documentation.

Skills & Experience

• The Senior Engineer will have at least five years of software development experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as a senior engineer.
• The Senior Engineer will be a Golang expert and will have professional experience with at least one other language.
• Familiarity with crypto data and crypto data management techniques is a plus.
  
  

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of

• DevOps – including security and high-availability,
• Databases, and
• Networking.
  
  

The Senior Engineer must have worked in a startup and loved the experience.

Technical specifics

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in some of the following technologies: SQL, Postgres, Clickhouse, Redis, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Linux, bare metal deployment, distributed systems design, and large-scale distributed data-intensive applications.

Additionally, experience with the following languages will be well viewed: Rust, Java, C, C++, C#.

Interview process

• HR interview with Agnieszka
• COO Interview. (30 minutes) This will focus on cultural fit.
• Engineering interview. (1 hour) This will focus on breadth and depth of work experience.
• Engineering challenge. (1 hour) This will be a live interview during which one or more people will pepper the candidate with technical questions. The interviewee will have to think fast on his or her feet.
• CEO Interview. (30 minutes) This is the final hurdle. Our CEO is unpredictable. He may ask about culture, experience, education, or skills. No scenario :)
