Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Flexibility for travel at regular intervals.
• Flexible working days (from Sunday to Thursday)
• Writing well designed, reusable, testable and secure code by applying best software development practices
• Designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability and performant applications
• Architecting well defined APIs for user facing elements developed by front end developers
• Collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team
• Participating and conducting code reviews
• Discovering, learning and implementing new technologies

Qualifications & Experience:

• BSc/MSc/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience
• At least 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in designing and building backend systems
• Advanced communication skills in English (both writing and speaking)
• Proficiency with Java, Quarkus/Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven
• Experience with Microservices Architecture
• Experience with unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests for Quarkus applications
• Good understanding of how to deploy and manage Quarkus/Spring Boot applications
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Working with databases and be able to write complex SQL queries. you should know how to integrate Quarkus applications with databases such as PostgreSQL, and other industry leading databases
• Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex design problems
• Strong communication and stakeholder management experience
• Experience developing software with TDD automation
• Working knowledge with open shift, Amazon Web Services is a plus
• Experience or willing to learn large scale stream processing technologies
• Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies

Nice to have:

• Experience with Service-oriented architecture, microservices, and REST APIs
• Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing large scale systems
• Proficiency in distributed systems and concurrent programming
• Familiarity with Docker and/or KubernetesC
• Experience or willingness to learn large scale stream processing technologies
• Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies
• Contributions to OpenSource projects
• Passionate focus on CI/CD practices
