About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join a high-performing team on a 12-month contract (with potential for extension). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment and is passionate about solving real-world problems using data.

You’ll work with large-scale datasets and cutting-edge AWS technologies including SageMaker, Glue, EMR, and Redshift. Your responsibilities will span from data preparation and automation to deploying scalable machine learning solutions and supporting decision-making through analytics.

Key Highlights:

• Immediate start (or up to 2 weeks’ notice for the right candidate)
• Daily rate: AUD $950 a day
• Work on high-impact projects in the banking and financial services sector
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Contribute to responsible AI practices and CI/CD pipelines

The Successful Candidate

You are a problem-solver with a growth mindset, passionate about data and its potential to drive business value. You bring a strong technical foundation and are comfortable navigating both the technical and business sides of a project.

You will have:

• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with Spark or Snowflake
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: SageMaker, Glue, EMR, S3, Redshift, DocumentDB
• Familiarity with MLOps, model lifecycle management, and cloud architecture
• Experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to financial crime and transaction monitoring
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Candidates CVs will be prioritized if you have:

• Experience in GenAI, prompt engineering, and responsible AI
• Exposure to data product frameworks and design thinking
