Your Opportunity

As the Cyber Security Analyst, you will provide high level support and report to the Manager, Information Security Services in providing high level technical direction, support and advice to maintain adequate level of protection to ECQ’s ICT systems, services, hardware & infrastructure, software applications, and information assets.

In the role, you will play a leading role in achieving, maintaining and improving overall cyber security at the ECQ by utilising your knowledge and experience related to cloud infrastructure, physical networks, endpoint management and web application technologies.

Your Contribution

  • Provide high level cyber security in the analysis of infrastructure issues and the formulation, design and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements.
  • Lead incident response & management including triage and investigation of operational alerts from the Security Operations Centre monitoring service.
  • Provide threat and vulnerability management including assessment and prioritisation of identified vulnerabilities within ECQ systems.
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments, vulnerability scans, access audits and penetration tests on new and existing infrastructure providing guidance on mitigation strategies and solutions to reduce security risks.
  • Develop and implement the organisation's cybersecurity framework, including policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Create, deliver, and coordinate security awareness training for employees to help foster a culture of security within the organisation.
  • Coordination of audit and assurance activities including IS18 attestation and reporting to governance bodies including Information Management and Security Committee and Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with other staff within the department to ensure the alignment and integration of operational services, processes and service levels across the organisation.
  • Utilise excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effective working knowledge of QLD Government IS18 policy, ASD Essential 8, NIST Cyber Security Framework to install, configure, and maintain enterprise security and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on technical procedures, system design, such firewall block lists, ACLs and other related technical areas within the Information Security Services team.
  • Collaborate with enterprise customers, 3rd parties, project teams and other technical experts for seamless and secure functionality of the networks and infrastructure capability.
  • Contribute to team cohesiveness, wellbeing and capability through participation in establishing a positive environment, respectful of the views of others across the DT team and broader ECQ workforce.
  • Consistently display the Queensland Government values, ensuring that these are upheld and championed when representing ECQ.
