Frontend Software Engineer

Our Direct to Consumer business is performing and growing strongly, which is why we - within the Customer Acquisition stream in Technology - are looking for a Frontend Engineer to scale On’s online business to the next level. As an experienced engineer, you will contribute to building first-in-class web applications and digital services with a premium user experience. Based in our Berlin office, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Berlin, Zurich, and London

Your mission

• Build and maintain on-site experiences for end users powering mar-tech tools and personalisation services.
• Optimize website features for performance, scalability, SEO and accessibility.
• Set a good example of balancing between delivery and quality having the user in mind.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and UX designers.
• Navigate ambiguity and fast-changing priorities with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.
• Communicate technical design and decisions effectively through verbal and written communication.
• Collaborate with digital marketing and product teams to deliver high-performance solutions.
  
  

Your story

• Proven experience in building high-quality web applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js (preferred) or React
• Hands on experience designing and consuming APIs using GraphQL (Apollo is a plus) or REST, with a solid understanding of software architecture, asynchronous patterns, and test-driven development
• Familiarity with the Node.js ecosystem and build tools like Webpack or Rollup
• Experience with server side rendering framework like NuxtJs or NextJs is a strong advantage
• Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and modern UI/UX principles with a focus on building accessible and SEO-friendly user interfaces
• Comfortable working with content management systems (CMS) to deliver dynamic, localized and personalized content experiences
• Exposure to experimentation frameworks and A/B testing methodologies is a plus
• Strong communication skills in English, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts
