Area Product Owner - X Platform

Role Overview

We are looking for an Area Product Owner (APO) for the X Platform to join our Product Management team. In this role, you will translate strategy into action, owning and prioritising the backlog for your product area and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver customer and business value.

As an APO, you’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, support, and commercial teams to ensure clear priorities, technical alignment, and customer focus. Your work will have direct impact on how tier-1 broadcasters and media companies worldwide succeed with Appear’s technology.



Key Responsibilities

• Own and prioritise the backlog for your area, translating product goals into actionable features.
• Align with stakeholders to balance customer needs, business goals, and technical trade-offs.
• Act as the main point of contact for Scrum teams, ensuring clarity of direction and purpose.
• Collaborate with product marketing, architecture, and support to gather insights and drive priorities.
• Stay close to customers and market trends, adapting direction based on data and feedback.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, APO, or Product Manager in a tech-driven environment.
• Technical Fluency to collaborate with engineers on design, APIs, and platform trade-offs.
• Solid understanding of agile principles; experience with scaled agile frameworks is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills to simplify complexity.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
