Data Architect
to join our Data Management team within the Process & Data Management unit in Espoo.
Data Management plays a key role in transforming Neste to be an data led company. We are building our competitive edge on data, to understand even better our customers, suppliers, markets, competitors, processes and our operations. This whole initiative is quite unique in the Finnish industrial landscape.
Data is a central asset for Neste, and data architecture creates one essential piece in the Neste wide Data Ecosystem. Your role as a Data Architect in the Data Management team is to support the business processes, functions and over all data development on top of Neste Data Platform. Together we will build a robust and scalable way of working that will truly allow Neste to lie on the pulse of the business.

Data Architect

The Data Management team is one of sub-teams under the Process & Data Management organization:
- Operating Models & Processes - Driving group operating models, business processes development, and continual improvement frameworks and methodologies
- Architecture & Governance - Driving Neste process and information architectures and related governance, also for master data management for group common master data elements
- Data Management - Driving Neste Data Architecture and Engineering for Neste data asset management and services
- Intelligent Automation - Driving efficient intelligent automation capabilities, including AI driven process analytics, RPA and process mining
More About The Job
Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are
- Taking charge of the data architecture deliverables in your responsibility area including
- Logical and physical data modeling and relation to Neste Data Platform, master data management, integrations, and other services
- Enterprise Data Architecture patterns, policies and guidelines are followed at Neste
- Other data architecture tasks on needs bases
- Participating and controlling development projects with hands on attitude
- Collaborate with business and process development, to review data models and business logic for initiating data discovery to process
- Cooperate with Process Owners, Data Owners, Data Analysts, to foster a data architecture community at Neste
- Participation in developing enterprise data architecture discipline and common ways of working in Neste
- Support Data Quality Measurement together with other KPIs and report creation
- Drive ownership and accountability in your responsibility area including data access, privacy and security related activities
- Improve data transparency and understanding
- Strong background in Data Vault 2.0 modeling methodology and dimensional modeling
- Strong background in DataOps approach
- Strong background in SQL
- Good understanding of conceptual modeling and its use with Data Vault modeling
- Good understanding of data platform architectures
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure)
- Ability to analyze complex data and figure out how operational systems work as part of Neste’s end to end processes
- Great communication skills to both business users and technical developers
- Capability to evaluate different solution options for the business case at hand and choose the best one - even if it leads to not using the data platform
- Responsible attitude with a safety-oriented mindset
- Ability to work with complex initiatives having the big picture in mind, and drive these initiatives forward with a high level of independence
- Understanding how to utilize digital solutions with data to innovate and improve the production and operations business processes and courage to challenge non-value-adding initiatives
- Strong self-starter with ability to lead and think outside of the box, and ability to gain trust from stakeholders of all seniority levels
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
